“A Day in the Life” with local Calgary artist Kathleen McCallum

Kathleen McCallum is an Alberta College of Art, Visual Communications graduate. From a very young age, Kathleen knew she wanted to be an artist. She took up oil painting as a teenager, where she mastered copper kettles and kittens with large eyes. A girl has to start somewhere! She enjoys all aspects of creating from preliminary sketches to fun titles and is inspired by everything around her. Her rewarding career as a graphic designer constantly influences her compositions and detailed subject matter.

Kathleen’s colourful acrylic paintings exude beauty and a playfulness – inspiring her popular greeting card series and giftware.

“The world always seems brighter when you’ve made something that wasn’t there before.”
– Neil Gaiman
