Buttery Charcuterie Panini from Dairy Farmers of Ontario is a simple yet elevated sandwich featuring savoury cured meats, tangy pickles, and melted smoked gouda between crispy golden sourdough. A great recipe for a quick lunch or a comforting meal with gourmet flavours.

Buttery Charcuterie Panini
Serves: 2-4
Ingredients:
- 8 slices sourdough bread, sliced ½-inch thick
- 4-5 tbsp local unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 340 g sliced charcuterie meats, such as salami, prosciutto, capocollo, or ham
- ½ cup pickles, dill & sliced
- 2 cups local smoked gouda, shredded
Directions:
- Slice sourdough bread to ½” slices and shred artisan smoked gouda
- Spread softened butter on the outside of each sourdough slice. Spread Dijon mustard on the inside of each slice.
- Layer the charcuterie meats, sliced pickles, and shredded smoked gouda onto 4 slices of bread. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
- Place the sandwiches in a panini press and cook for 5–10 minutes, or until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
- If using a skillet, cook the sandwiches over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden and melted. Slice in half and serve immediately.
