Marigold Beauty

What is your business called and what does it do?

Marigold Beauty strives to bring awareness to issues that affect the Youth. We want to educate and empower youth by sharing information about the issues that matter. We will be partnering with local agencies to give back to our community. We will be donating a portion of funds from our sales, as well as sharing resources on topics such as mental well-being, self-esteem and domestic violence.

What made you want to do this work?

I wanted to bring sparkle and glitter into our everyday lives. I want to also use my cosmetics business as a platform to share information on local resources on issues that matter to young people. I plan to host workshops in the future, with speakers and a makeup lesson.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

Marigold Beauty is a cosmetics company that celebrates inner and outer beauty. Our mission is to bring fun sparkly makeup to everyone, to bring out your inner glow. We are focused on highlighting your natural beauty rather than covering up any perceived flaws.

We want people to feel that they can be beautiful on the inside and outside. Our mission is Beauty with a Purpose.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Marigold Beauty Cosmetics are for everyone but are mainly targeted towards preteens and teens. I will be adding information on my website and social media, on local resources for teens. Resources on topics such as self-esteem, mental health, leadership skill building and healthy relationships.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

We sell high-quality cosmetics that are made in Canada. The products are currently available to be purchased online by sending a message on our website or Instagram. We plan to be at local markets this year and are currently looking for local stores to carry our products. We also offer makeup application services through Blond Vagabond
Beauty.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

Currently, our products are available through online purchases. I offer free pick or delivery locally within Calgary.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

“Where are the products made? Are they tested on animals?” All of our cosmetic products are Made in Canada and are Cruelty-free.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

I love making people feel beautiful on the inside and outside. I am a makeup artist as well, and usually am doing makeup for an important day in their life; such as a wedding, a model test shoot or a pageant. It’s an absolute honour to be part of someone’s special day, and it’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. I love being able to offer affordable, high-quality cosmetics that add some sparkle to life! There is no worst part. I love what I do!

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

“Why is lipstick losing market share in the makeup industry?”

“Because we live in a mask-era”
