Michelle Alexander is a Digital Artist best known for her unusual mashups of delicious food combined with everyday objects. “Artwork will cause hunger!” she warns, as people of all ages and backgrounds share laughter and joy in her clever and punny work. In addition to her sugary-sweet collections, Michelle also creates custom and minimalist portraits of people and pets.
Michelle began MishiMoooDesigns while on maternity leave during the early months of the pandemic. She shares her experience as a new artist and inspires others to follow their creativity and/or curiosity through her blog.
As a life-long learner who courageously jumps into a variety of new experiences, she has recently begun dabbling in the mysterious world of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), as well as the thrilling adventure of squeezing her way through Banff’s underground caves.
While Michelle is extremely proud that her work has been featured in a variety of publications, podcasts, and retail stores, her most prized achievement is her family, including her husband, dog, and two handsome children who are no doubt the source of her inspiration, creativity and lack of sleep.

Which ‘hood are you in?
I live in Bonavista (SE Calgary) with my beautiful family.
What do you do?
I create digital illustrations inspired by junk food! My artwork explores how an obsession with food can spill over into pretty much every aspect of my life, turning even the most mundane objects into colourful eye candy.
My artwork is sold on a variety of high-quality products via Society6 and I sell affordable ready-to-print digital downloads of my art via Etsy (also known as ‘printables’).
I also do custom pet/people portraits, sell select NFTs, and am partnered with additional online and brick-and-mortar retailers. Visit https://www.michellealexander.art for the most up-to-date information.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on a Celebrities Snacking Series. These minimalist illustrations are clever, in some cases ironic, but most of all, stylish. Past celebrities have included Jlo eating Jell-O, Steve Jobs eating a candy apple, the entire cast of Friends with their most iconic foods from the show, and many more.
Where can we find your work?
I’d love for you to visit my website at https://www.michellealexander.art and/or find me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mishimooodesigns/. WARNING: Artwork will cause hunger.
