What is your business called and what does it do?

My business is called Clover & Crow. We specialize in helping ambitious female founders launch memorable wellness brands through purpose-driven branding. Our offerings include brand identity, website design, packaging design, and more, all crafted to empower women-owned businesses to succeed.

What made you want to do this work?

I’ve always been inspired by the power of storytelling and the creativity behind great design. My journey into this field was deeply influenced by my passion for helping women-owned businesses thrive. After becoming a mother, my priorities shifted, and I became even more dedicated to fostering success in women-led ventures, combining my love for creativity with a desire to support other moms in their entrepreneurial journeys.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

I wanted to empower women in business by providing them with the tools and confidence to start their ventures on the right foot. Many women entrepreneurs not only face the challenge of creating a brand that truly reflects their passion and resonates with their audience, but they also contend with systemic issues like pay gaps and the challenge of competing in markets dominated by male-owned businesses. At Clover & Crow, we aim to help solve these challenges by offering purpose-driven branding that not only looks beautiful but also equips women to succeed in these competitive environments. We help them build strong foundations for their businesses and inspire them to lead with clarity, confidence, and the assurance that their brand will stand out and thrive in a marketplace that often overlooks or undervalues female entrepreneurs.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Our clientele primarily consists of ambitious female founders in the wellness industry. They are driven, passionate women who value clarity, confidence, and empowerment in their branding. They seek to create meaningful connections with their audience through well-crafted, purposeful design.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

We generate revenue through our comprehensive branding and design services, working one-on-one with our clients to create customized branding and website packages. Our approach ensures that each project is tailored to meet the unique needs of the business, providing personalized attention and expert guidance every step of the way.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

While Clover & Crow operates primarily online, allowing us to serve clients worldwide, our studio is based in NW Calgary. We also offer in-person consultations and meetings for local clients who prefer a more hands-on approach.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

A great question to ask is, “How do you ensure that the branding you create aligns with my business goals and resonates with my target audience?” The answer lies in our One Concept Method, where we focus on deep collaboration with our clients, conducting thorough market research, and developing a single, comprehensive brand concept that meets all the necessary goals. This approach ensures that the final design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also strategically effective.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part of what I do is the opportunity to help women bring their dreams to life through purposeful branding. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our clients’ businesses flourish and to know that we’ve played a role in their success. The more challenging part of what I do is balancing the demands of running a business while being a mom. Juggling multiple projects and responsibilities can be tough, especially when trying to give my all both at work and at home. But despite the challenges, the fulfilment I get from both roles makes it all worthwhile.

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another local business that you love?

I am OBSESSED with the West Calgary Farmers Market! I spend an unreasonable amount of money there, stocking up on balsamic vinegar from Soffritto’s (the garlic-infused one is to die for) picking up a steak from Sragg’s (seriously the best rib-eye I’ve ever had) and grabbing some donuts from Phil & Sebastian (because of course).
