Which neighbourhood are you in?

I live in Lower Mount Royal. I love living in the inner city – riding my bike or walking to everything; theatre, comedy shows, music, nature, coffee shops, restaurants, gigs, boutiques, mural gazing and people-watching. It’s a vibrant place to live.

What do you do?

I am an actor (Fargo, got milf?, Heartland…), comedian, writer and I produce my own work. Most recent works include got milf? Sketch Comedy Special (written, produced and starred in) being distributed to streaming services in January of 2025 by Incendo Media, my podcast Completely Off Topic, With Susan Serrao which premiered on TELUS Optiks September 24 and a short film Love Stuck that I wrote, directed and starred in for the Firecracker Department and Canadian Film Festival’s “Igniter” challenge. I perform improv, stand up and sketch comedy across Western Canada (maybe a time or two in Toronto!). I have a YouTube channel Susan Serrao Sketch ‘N Stuff which is home to my sketch series got milf?, Sketchy Beavers, Sandy and Susan Do Stupid Shit and my podcast Completely Off Topic, With Susan Serrao with over 4.3M views and 15K subscribers. Have a laugh with me @iamsusanserrao

What are you currently working on?

I’m in the editing/delivery phase of Season 2 of Completely Off Topic, With Susan and Meg which will bring 8 more podcast episodes of Calgary-based female artists to Telus Optiks and my YouTube channel in spring of 2025.

I am leading the Calgary branch of Firecracker Department, an international community of artistic female and non-binary people, empowering each other to take creative action by building platforms for our voices and stories.

I was lucky to act in three horror films in October and I continue to audition for local films and major network series.

I continue to nurture and raise 4 sons who I love with all of my being.

I would like to start emceeing, using my improv and stand-up skills to entertain large groups and help move an event forward. Hit me up if you’re interested!

Where can we find your work?

My work is on my YouTube channel Susan Serrao Sketch ‘N Stuff, Amazon Prime (Fargo, Department of Paranormal Affairs), CBC (Heartland, Ride, Fortunate Son), Telus Optiks (Completely Off Topic, With Susan Serrao), and Podcast platforms (COT, The Hand of Brass). You can also catch me on stage at the Loose Moose, Kinkonauts and various stand-up shows around the city.
