My name is Clint Schrenk, and I own six of Mascha Hellenbrand’s pieces.
She is kind. Compassionate to strangers. She has a funny Dutch accent. She used to ski professionally for the Dutch national alpine team, lived in eight countries, and became a full-time artist in 2001 after a car accident in 2000. She is a funny person who wants others to laugh and feel better about themselves.
Her paintings make me feel happy every day. An unplanned chaos that somehow makes me feel calm. The colours are maybe chosen, but the brushstrokes are mostly spontaneous — like they were made from the soul, without any analytical thinking.
That’s the best way I know how to describe it.

Which ’hood are you in?
My art studio and home are in Deer Run SE, Calgary. I live 1 street away from Fish Creek Park, and I am more often in the park than in the city. I am more a nature person than a city gal 🙂
What do you do?
I create large paintings. I have been a full-time artist since 2001. I lived in 8 countries for my art. I studied sports and nutrition. I do help people with chronic pain. I also take care of a 24-year-old male with special needs. He likes to create art with me and walk 3 times a day for an hour in the park! Then I volunteer to cook for elderly people in the neighbourhood.
What are you currently working on?
I am painting a few new XL paintings for my exhibition at Bow River Brewing, Calgary. I started this show on May 6th, 2026. The grand opening will be on June 6th from 5 to 9 pm. Everyone is welcome to walk in for free!
Where can we find your work?
You can see some of my mountain art on @camount_gallery Instagram.

People can visit my art studio in Deer Run by appointment through Mascha.paintings@gmail.com, and Bow River Brewing is showing some of my mountain collection paintings inside (the mountain paintings on the outside of the building are made by someone else).
