When I met Anne Gloton, her love for art was already a big part of who she was, which I thought was cool because I hadn’t been surrounded by many artists before. At the time, she was working with oil pastels and was incredibly talented, talented enough to be taking commissions and I honestly didn’t think she could get any better than that.
Then one day, she told me she wanted to get into oil painting. I thought it was crazy, why would you leave a medium you were already so good at to start from scratch again? But on her birthday, she asked for oil painting supplies, and that got the ball rolling. From there on, she just kept going, loving and enjoying the process more and more.
It’s been years now since she began her oil painting journey, and she’s been doing so well. But even after all this time, her drive and passion to keep improving is mind-blowing to me. The love and mentality she has for her art is truly inspiring. We all need someone like her in our lives to remind us to keep growing and pushing ourselves.

Which neighbourhood are you in?
I’m located in the Country Hills NW neighbourhood. I pretty much grew up in the NW area of Calgary. I was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada when I was 12 years old. I have now been living in Calgary with my family for over 17 years now!
What do you do?
I am a live wedding painter, an oil painter who specializes in capturing special moments as they unfold. I paint live at weddings, creating timeless keepsakes for couples to remember their day. I started this journey in the summer of 2023 and fell in love with the joy and emotion of painting people’s most cherished moments in real time. I also work full-time, so painting has become a passion I pursue in the evenings and on weekends. It’s my creative outlet and something I truly love doing.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on commissions based on photos provided by my clients. One bride reached out for a painting of their elopement photoshoot, such a beautiful, intimate moment, and I’m grateful to create something special for them even after their big day. Another painting in progress is from a friend’s wedding I attended. It’s always extra meaningful to paint for friends and family, like reliving the joy all over again! and to capture their day on canvas as a keepsake they can treasure!
