A true born and raised Calgarian, Lancette Burton has always had the knack of being creative. She is the best Mother to our two crazy children and a stellar sidekick to me. She has always been inspired to take wonderful photos throughout our travels. She soon turned those into beautiful pieces of art by painting the scene. Lancette loves to be inspired by nature, animals and the ever curiosity of children. In 2014, she started her painting and photography business from home, all while continuing to work her full-time job. She started her craft with acrylic and soon found a love for oil painting. Currently, she is diving deep into the mixed media world, providing very creative backgrounds to her ever-whimsical animals. Her passion and drive to become a professional artist is out of this World. It is hard to believe how much she has accomplished over these few years. Whether it is painting wonderful landscapes or silly creatures, you will be sure to find that her art is very bright and energetic.

Which ‘hood are you in?
I live in the southeast of Calgary in Acadia.
What do you do?
I am a photographer and oil and mixed media artist. I love using oils for my landscape work and mixed media for my animal and child portraits as a background. I like to play with collage, texture, gold leaf and stencils. I am inspired by nature, my photography adventures, our prairie and mountain backyard and love painting our inspiring Alberta skies.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on grain elevator landscapes, mini whimsical animals series and beach-inspired paintings for some upcoming shows. I am trying to play with adding more mixed-media elements to my landscape work which is exciting for me. You will always find me playing and experimenting as I enjoy exploring art processes.
Where can we find your work?
My work can be found online through my website, I have some pieces in the Hive store in both Nanton and Claresholm and on my social media pages- Instagram and Facebook.
