Steamed Garlic Prawns
Serving: 1 to 2 Servings
Total Time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
- 8 large prawns
- 30g vermicelli
- Hot water
- 3 tbsp Mazola® Canola Oil
- 6 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tbsp softened unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Finely chopped green onion
- Finely chopped cilantro
Directions:
- In a bowl, soak the vermicelli in hot water for 10 mins until softened. Drain and place on a steaming plate. Mix with a little oil and a little water to prevent vermicelli from sticking to the plate and for it to cook faster.
- Prepare the prawns by cutting off the rostrum, antennules, antennas, and pereopods. Devein and butterfly the prawns.
- In a small pan with 1 tbsp heat Mazola® Canola Oil over medium heat, sauté the garlic until golden. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix together the butter, salt, sautéed garlic, green onion, and cilantro.
- Spread the garlic butter on the shrimps.
- Layer the shrimps on top of the vermicelli.
- When water boils, steam for 5 minutes over high heat.
- Remove, and pour 2 tbsp heated oil on top of the shrimps for extra flavour. Enjoy!
