Bob Beddow is a Stand-Up Comedian who has been performing in Private Events, Corporate Events, Comedy Festivals, Casino Events, Charity Events, and Conventions since 1996. We had the chance to catch up with him to find out more about his style, influences and projects.
How would you describe your comedy style?
I’m a storyteller. My show is about me, my wife, my kids and my dog. Everyone can find a story that they can relate to.
Who are some of your influences?
Ken Valgardson, definitely. Billy Mitchell. Billy Connolly. George Carlin.
Who was your favourite comedian growing up?
Who is your favourite comedian now?
Probably Lars Callieou.
What is your pre-show ritual?
I watch the audience. I look for who’s going to challenge me. Then I walk. I pace a lot.
What is your favourite place you have performed? Why?
The Seniors Hall in Beaumont, Alberta.
I put on an annual fundraiser for seven years. Every year, by the following week, people were looking forward to the next one.
What is your favourite bit you have written and why were you proud of it?
My vasectomy bit. I have made some of Canada’s top F18 jockeys squirm.
What is your favourite medium for listening or finding new comics/comedians?
I watch open 🎤 shows.

Red Deer can’t have a CFL team, because then Edmonton will want one.
