My business is called Glam by Alisha and I am an esthetician & makeup artist offering services such as makeup, makeup lessons, waxing, tinting, facials, lash lifts, brow laminations and teeth whitening.
What made you want to do this work?
I have always been passionate about all things beauty for as long as I can remember and I love making people feel and look their absolute best so it was a no-brainer that I got into the beauty industry.
What problem did you want to solve with the business?
I want to help people feel and look their best. From private 1:1 makeup lessons to brow reshapings I aim to solve all sorts of beauty problems for people.
Who are your clientele/demographics?
Pretty much anyone who wants to have a beauty treatment or makeup service done. I service clients of all ages, anyone who wants to look and feel their best.
How does your business make money? How does it work?
Clients can book in with me for the various esthetic & makeup services I offer at my studio. I also offer mobile makeup services for bridal parties, you can find the enquiry form for that on my website.

A client could ask what sets you apart from other estheticians and makeup artists. I would say that I have a passion for making people feel their most beautiful and I am dedicated to my craft. I keep up to date on education & training to ensure I am always well-versed on the latest trends, techniques and products. To top it off, I am the ultimate hype girl who will always help make you feel your most beautiful!
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part about my job is getting to make people feel and look their best all while getting to be creative and doing what I love. I truly adore what I do, and I have so much fun doing it that it doesn’t even feel like work. It’s one of the most rewarding jobs ever.
The worst part about what I do is probably managing my work-life balance so I don’t get burnt out or get into a creative rut because it’s easy to get carried away with working on bettering my business and reaching goals constantly as an entrepreneur, especially something I’m passionate about.
What is your favourite joke about your own profession?
We’re estheticians, not magicians! Because we may be able to work wonders on your skin but we can’t perform magic tricks or give you instant results. Working with your esthetician consistently is the key to great things!
