Nothing is more magnificent than knowing that anything is possible. This is what inspired Lynda Black to become an Artist. ♡ As a child, she loved to create but as a teenager, she began struggling with the symptoms of Bipolar Disorder – mostly Mania & Psychosis. It was at this moment that her Fascination with Imagination collided with her experience of Mental Illness – and her * CRaZY & bEAUtifUL WoRLd * was born. ♡ Her paintings became a means to express & heal herself. A way to transform her experience of reality into something beautiful – hopefully inspiring others with similar challenges to see the possibilities of art as a means of happiness and healing. Lynda paints only in Black and White to create inner balance & represent the duality of this world. She aims to transcend this by capturing the glimpses of ‘ fLUOReSCeNt eUPhORia ‘ that she experiences during her Manic episodes (before she begins to spiral out of control) – such as with her Collection of * CRaZY & bEAUtifUL * Poetry Paintings. ♡ Inspired to paint only the beauty she experiences, Lynda intentionally creates a world thru her art that is filled with an abundance of Love & Imagination. ♡ Each person experiences reality in their own unique & meaningful way – with their own thoughts & feelings about the world around them. It is these experiences of being human that are like a spectrum of colours, a symphony of hues, & Lynda Black’s art reminds us that in this Black and White World… * WE ARe RAiNbOWS *. ♡

I’m just off of 17th Ave SW in the community of Connaught, Calgary.
What do you do?
I’m a Visual Artist (w/ Bipolar Disorder) who creates in only Black and White. I sell Original Black and White Paintings on Canvas such as Abstract Face Paintings, Abstract + Minimalist Paintings, and * CRaZY & bEAUtifUL * Bipolar Poetry Paintings. I also hand-sew (ohhh.. sO. awwwhh… dorble) Plush Art Dolls (POLkadOttYdOLLS), as well as I’ve created the ‘110 Art Cards’ – a Card Deck of 110 Black and White Abstract Art Cards in a Box, professionally printed overseas.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently in the process of designing & promoting my online Website + Art Shop. I’m also excited to get back into creating more Art! =)
