Raised in Zimbabwe and currently based in Calgary, KTheChosen is your Friendly Neighbourhood Rapper who creates music that is both entertaining and enlightening. K (as he is affectionately known) believes in the power of storytelling and uses his voice to share the experiences of those around him. Since 2018, K has self-released several projects, leading to him being named in the Herald’s Top 20 Compelling Calgarians for 2022 and nominated thrice for the YYC Music Awards Rap Recording of the year (2022,2024 and 2025). He has played several festivals and conferences, including Sled Island and Sound Off Summit, shared the stage with fellow Albertan artists, K-Riz, The Blue and Arlo Maverick and opened for hip hop legend, Talib Kweli, at a sold-out show at Dickens Pub, Calgary. He is also the host and curator of a quarterly hip hop showcase called Ship Hop.

EP or LP?
LP, but I enjoy experimenting with a series of EPs to figure out what songs should make it into the final LP. Did this in 2025 with my Heartbreak K persona, where I took the best songs from IRL and IKR and added a couple new songs to make the LP, HBK.

Both, music from the studio takes on a new life when you’re playing it live!
Any shows or albums coming up?
I was announced as part of the first wave of Sled Island Music Festival and will be playing at Commonwealth with my band, The Knomads, on June 16th.
