Killara the dog needs a new home in the Calgary area

Say hello to Killara, a clever German Shepherd mix who is as smart as she is sweet. This lovely girl already knows a long list of commands, including “sit,” “stay,” “lay down,” “shake a paw,” “go to your crate,” “no,” “off,” “leave it,” and even “where’s your toy?” She’s crate-trained and has lived with cats before, so she may do well with dog-savvy feline friends after careful introductions.

Killara does struggle with leash reactivity, which means she gets overstimulated or frustrated when she sees other dogs while she is on a leash. This can cause barking or pulling, but with positive reinforcement and guidance from our staff, adopters can help her manage this behaviour.

The shelter environment has been overwhelming for her, but her affectionate nature shines through. Killara is ready to find a loving home where she can relax, continue learning, and share her big heart. Could she be your next best friend?
