Five Minutes With: Calgary Singer-Songwriter Justine Giles

Calgary-based singer-songwriter Justine Giles fearlessly bares her soul with her latest bluesy rock single, “Before It’s Too Late”. This marks her third release in under two years, following the summer hit “Another Chance” and the emotive “Save Myself”. The track encapsulates the closing of a personal chapter, emphasizing the non-linear nature of healing. Giles takes charge of her destiny, anchored by a poignant acoustic guitar melody and newfound confidence. With her voice front and centre, “Before It’s Too Late” showcases Giles’ dynamic fearlessness, transitioning from unwavering confidence to tender vulnerability. Giles reflects on her transformative journey, stating, “I felt ready to embrace my strength and power, and I’m really proud of these vocals.” The single navigates the complexities of unrequited love, hinting at a glimmer of hope in a mid-song bridge. Collaborating with producer Mark Troyer, Giles adds a rock’n’roll grit to her performance, solidifying her presence in the Calgary music scene and garnering national attention. As the sun sets on this chapter, Giles emerges stronger, the ghosts of her past mere rhinestones under the shimmering lights of her next big show.
