Bolt is a big personality in a very handsome package! This energetic, toy-loving guy is always ready for action, whether that means a spirited game of tug, chasing toys around the house, or showing off his adorable vocal “commentary” while he plays. He’s incredibly affectionate with the people he trusts and absolutely loves snuggling up for cuddles and brushing sessions after a busy day.
In the home, Bolt has shown himself to be quite content and has settled nicely with his foster family. He has done well being left alone for short periods and enjoys spending time close to his people. He’s smart, knows his name, has great recall, and forms strong bonds with the humans in his circle.
Bolt would benefit from a family that can provide him lots of structure and understanding as he navigates his new life! A family that can help him direct his excitable energy into appropriate channels and help him learn his best leash manners would be ideal!
Bolt is also a dog who will need understanding, structure, and ongoing support from his future family. He is a very high-energy dog who can become easily overstimulated, especially around toys and during exciting situations. Sometimes his enthusiasm can come across as intimidating – he may bark loudly, jump up, or become very fixated on toys during play. His foster family found that calm voices, slow movements, and clear boundaries helped him settle and make better choices.
Bolt is looking for an active, experienced home that will embrace both his lovable quirks and his challenges. With the right people beside him, this playful, snuggly, larger-than-life dog has so much potential to shine.
