Alyssa Hassett is a 21-year-old Calgary actress. She started acting when she was 10 years old in local theatre productions and started acting professionally at 16 years old. Her most notable roles have been as Connie in ‘Rent a Groom’, Pretty Girl in ‘High School’, and Jen Bruin in ‘Dusk and Dawn’.
In addition to her acting career, she is in her fourth year of university, achieving a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications in Journalism with a minor in Political Science from Mount Royal University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and volunteering at a local animal shelter.

Which ’hood are you in?
I currently commute from Okotoks to Calgary. I was born in Calgary and grew up in Okotoks, and for the past three years, I have lived in Calgary to be closer to my school, as I’m currently a student at Mount Royal University.
What do you do?
I’m an actress. I started acting when I was 10 years old, I was a super shy kid, so I decided to start auditioning for different local plays to help me gain confidence in myself, and I found I really loved performing. I got my first acting role on television when I was 16, and it’s been my job ever since!
What are you currently working on?
Right now is the start of ‘pilot season’ as it’s called in the acting industry, where lots of TV shows and films are in the middle of casting for the new year, so I’ve been busy with lots of auditions lately. At the moment, I typically have two to three auditions a week that I’m working on.

You can see me as Connie in ‘Rent a Groom’ on Apple TV and Amazon Prime, I play Pretty Girl in ‘High School’ on Amazon Prime, and you can see me in several other shows on Netflix, Disney Plus, and Hulu. Some of my work has also yet to be released, such as my role as Jen Bruin in ‘Dusk and Dawn’.
