With a name like Karamel, it’s no surprise that this boy is a sweetheart! Surrendered to our shelter through no fault of his own, Karamel is on a hunt to find the perfect forever home. Understandably, he is not enjoying the shelter life and has been a bit nervous in this new and unfamiliar environment. While he is slowly warming up, he would do much better in a calm, quiet home with a family that can be patient and help him gain confidence! Once he’s built a relationship with you, he will show off his true personality. He enjoys sleeping in bed with you, getting brushed, receiving pets on his own terms and chasing after your shoelaces! Sometimes, he prefers to just be near you rather than being touched, so it’s important to read his body language for signs that he’d prefer to be left alone. Another thing you should know about Karamel is that he can be a bit particular with his litterbox, and his potential adopters should be prepared to help him work on any issues surrounding litterbox etiquette. Once you break through Karamel’s shell, he will be your loyal companion for the rest of his days!
