What is your business called and what does it do?
Savvy Beagle is a risk analysis tool built to help Canadians feel more confident in taking financial risks. It helps users make more informed investment decisions by allowing them to build portfolios that simulate the financial market.
What made you want to do this work?
After years of working in the financial world, I saw a need to help educate everyday people to better understand their own finances. Many did not understand risk or their risk comfort level.
What problem did you want to solve with the business?
As a trader myself, it was difficult to find a tool that would measure this risk of my individual stocks or my portfolio – so I decided to create one. The web-based app uses streamlined technology to assess market, sector, industry and stock to support personalized investment
solutions.
Whether they are a novice investor or are a seasoned financial advisor, Savvy Beagle will help make Canadians feel more comfortable with the word risk. And the visuals and images provide an easy-to-understand snapshot.

How does your business make money? How does it work?
The web-based application offers three subscription options to best-fit user needs. Savvy Explorer and Savvy Expert are only available at an additional cost.
Savvy Searcher – best for beginners just dipping their paws in risk analysis
Savvy Explorer – best for beginner to intermediate investors ready to take their portfolio to the next level
Savvy Expert – best for experienced investors as well as financial advisors and investment pros looking to help others
Savvy Beagle uses price history to determine the risk implications to the user’s portfolio.

Savvy Beagle provides a solution to help investors at any age and stage of their financial journey. Beginner investors to financial advisors can build portfolio simulations that test stock combinations and evaluate individual stock and portfolio risk changes. Savvy Beagle does not
eliminate risk – It helps users understand and manage it.
With the program getting updated daily, users can always count on the most current information displayed in their simulated portfolios.
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
Identifying a problem and developing a creative solution that is accessible to everyday people.
I love what I’m doing, and I get to choose, so I hire good people to take care of the areas I don’t enjoy.
What is your favourite joke about your own profession?
I speak numbers, not English.
I used to be a banker … But I lost interest.
